How can I sit on the sidelines and not help them? I read a staggering statistic this past week. The October Shared List for children ready for adoption in China had over 1700 kids. Of those 1700, 3/4 of these children were boys! These children are all special treasures and deserve a family. Who will be their voice and help? It's so easy to turn your head and not address the problem, but once you have seen these children, played with these children, read about their longing for a family, you are changed.
I will be teaming up with several International China Concern workers to help spread the word about children available for adoption and in ICC's care. Our daughter was part of their program, we visited and met the ICC staff in China, and we were so impressed with the work they are doing. We saw first hand the impact ICC has on the children, the love and dignity they are pouring into these children every day. And it is making such a difference!
Not everyone is called to adopt, but everyone is called to support the orphan and the widow. You can support the orphan by praying for the children who will be highlighted in this blog, you can share about children available for adoption through facebook, friends and church, you can sponsor a child through ICC, you can volunteer short term or long term through ICC making a lasting impact on these children.
How will God use you in making a difference in the life of these waiting special treasures? I can't wait to see what He will do!
