Halle - In Memoriam

It is with very sad hearts that we must share that Halle LiHua passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Saturday October 10, 2015.  She was deeply  loved by her ICC caregivers and extended ICC family, and by the family who was racing to bring her home.  Halle's short life has impacted many...from the hundreds of people who rallied on short notice to fund specialized formula and vitamins that Halle so desperately needed, to bringing a family forward literally seconds after her blog post was shared even though they knew and understood the great risks involved...they still opened their hearts to her and wanted to bring her home.  They said "yes Lord, send us!"  What a testimony.

Halle LiHua's forever mom shared this "HOPE is never in vain because it originates with Him, and He never fails. I am thankful tonight even through this hard eucharisteo. We would do it all over again in a heartbeat. Every life is precious. Every single last one. Our family will continue to say yes. A million times yes."  Praying more families are willing to step out and say YES!

We thank God for the sweet life of Halle LiHua which means unexpected gift and blessing.  She deeply impacted the ICC staff and caregivers who loved on her and cared for her.  Please pray for the staff and this forever family who are greatly mourning her loss.

Brooklyn - AGED OUT

Brooklyn has aged out of the adoption system.  This sweet and determined girl is a blessing to those around her.

She will remain in ICC's care and be a part of the ICC family.

Sunnie

Beautiful Sunnie is 11 years old and was born in Sept 2008.  She is a very happy girl whose smile brightens up a room.  Sunnie has Cerebral Palsy, and is non-verbal.  Although she does not form words, she is able to make many sounds, respond to her name being called and show when she likes or dislikes something.

Beautiful Girl!
Taken June 2015

Sunnie's caregivers provide her with a majority of her needed care, and she is very receptive to the care she receives.  What a little love bug!

Winter 2015

She lives up to her name!
Sunnie would benefit from speech therapy as well as physical and occupational therapy to help her grow and blossom!

2014 Advocacy picture

So darling!
Sunnie is on the shared list.  Contact Erin Schmidt, ICC Adoptive Families Coordinator, at erin.schmidt@chinaconcern.org to receive her identifying information if you wish to have your agency pursue her file.

Katie - In Memoriam

It is with a very sad heart that we must share that sweet Katie passed away on
Saturday, August 23, 2015. This sweet girl will be deeply missed by her caregivers
at her orphanage and by those who worked with her at ICC.

While an orphanage is no place to grow up, we can take comfort that
Katie was loved by her nannies, and she loved them in return.

A memorial will be held in her honor in the days to come, and she will not be forgotten.
Rest in peace sweet angel.  You were loved by many around the world and upheld in prayer.

8/2013 to 8/23/2015

Hello!  Can you help me find my forever family?

Katie's file says the following things about her:  "the child is optimistic, has rich facial expressions, the child has ready smile, although there are so many small dark spots, this does not affect her lovely. She is like a flower, with sunshine she can smile. "

She is a sunshine girl!  Look at the sweet smile!

You are loved and missed Katie!
