Shandra

Shandra is a sweet and caring 10 year old girl (born Feb 2010) who has an intellectual disability.  She recently joined ICC's care in November 2019.  Previously she was under the care of her local welfare center.  Shandra does not currently have an adoption file, but her welfare center has given us permission to advocate for her adoption.  An adoptive family must step forward before the welfare center will make her adoption file.  

Shandra is a social girl who loves being with others!  She seeks out opportunities to play with her ICC siblings and carers.  She is able to respond to routine questionsa nd speak simple words like "mom, sister and jiayou."

Shandra enjoys cartoon books, watching TV, the playground and listening to music and singing!  She is a great helper in her small group home.  She can often been seen doing small jobs throughout the day such as packing away therapy equipment, pushing her friends on the swing, putting clips in her sisters' hair or placing trays on wheelchairs for mealtime.  What a sweetheart!

Shandra attends therapy classes and school within the ICC project.  She is able to read simple Chinese characters and recognize numbers 1-30.  She enjoys coloring pictures, and can draw simple shapes.  She is developing independence in self-care tasks.  

Shandra has a beautiful smile and warm personality.  We long to see this beautiful girl in a forever family where she will be greatly loved.
