Joshua, born Nov 2006, is 13 years old, and is such a handsome fellow with a bright smile. Those close to him say he is a lovely boy, very polite and keen to learn and be more independent. Joshua has Cerebral Palsy.
In ICC's care, Joshua has grown in confidence and ability. He is member of the Conductive Education group where he receives education and therapy to help him develop his abilities. Joshua has good communication skills, and expresses his opinions and wishes with his teachers, carers, therapists and friends. He enjoys learning, and is an active member of his education and therapy classes. He would benefit from speech and language therapy to help understand the cause of his "hoarse" voice.
Joshua has lots of learning potential, and really enjoys going to daily classes. He is able to concentrate during class, ask questions and respond appropriately. His education is behind due to his delayed opportunity to receive education. Joshua recognizes colors, animals and 40 Chinese characters. He can count and recognize numbers, and do simple math.
Joshua uses a wheelchair, and can move himself independently from chair to bed or bathroom without help. He manages to get himself around in the wheelchair including a daily 30 minute trip to school! He is able to pull himself up to stand at a table, and can sit unsupported on a stool. He does have some high muscle tone which affects his legs and arms. His hands are affected by the CP, but he is able to feed himself, brush his own teeth and do puzzles. He can also dress himself independently.
Joshua has been in ICC's care since he was 5 years old, and he longs for a forever family. He has seen several of his friends adopted, and desires to have the same. He has been asking about a family. We pray that the Lord will bring Joshua a forever family.
Joshua's advocacy name means "God is my Salvation" and "Bringer of Truth." We pray that Joshua will know God's salvation and redemption, and pray that a Forever Family steps forward to answer Joshua's deep desire to be a part of a family.
Joshua is currently on the shared list. Please contact Erin Schmidt, ICC's Adoptive Families Coordinator, at erin.schmidt@chinaconcern.org to receive Joshua's identifying information so that your agency can find his file.

Kallan - MATCHED!!!
Praise! We believe that Kallan is matched with his Forever Family!!
We have not had contact with his family, so we will leave his information up for a while in case they begin to look for information about his SWI.
Kallan is an adorable little boy who is 2 years old (born March 2013), and has been in ICC care since he was found. He has cleft lip and palate, and his cleft lip has already been repaired. His carers say that from the beginning, Kallan has been "obedient and cute all the time!"
Kallan has good motor skills and walking balance. He verbalizes some words but his speech is not clear due to his cleft palate. He is now independently feeding himself, and can bring his bowl from the dining room to the kitchen. He can put his shoes on - sometimes on the wrong feet - but needs help with dressing himself. He follows commands like "throw that in the trash" or "take that to Ayi." He really likes to eat but prefers snacks over meals!
Kallan attends kindergarten class at ICC with the other children in ICC care. Kallan is very active in class, and the teachers and his classmates like him very much! He likes drawing, and his carers often hang his work in his home. He asks visitors to look to at his work hung up at home, and tells others that he drew that picture! Kallan is a bright child and knows lots of funny actions!
Kallan loves to blow kisses and to dance! He often asks the care giver to put in a DVD to play music, and then "he will dance for joy with musicality following the musical rhythm, looking so happy." He also likes playing toys with other children and amusing younger playmates for fun. What a sweet boy his is!!
Kallan's name means "joyful" and all through out his file, his carers mention how joyful he is. We pray that Kallan will know the joy of having a family, and that a family will open their hearts to this boy full of joy. We look forward to rejoicing and clapping our hands when we know his Forever Family has found him!
"Let the river's clap with gladness; let the mountains sing together for joy." Ps 98:8
Kallan's file is set to be released to the shared list from CCAI on 9/23/2016. He was LID with CCAI as a partnership file. Please contact Erin Schmidt at cor867@yahoo.com to receive his name and DOB if you wish to have your agency pursue his file.

Nathaniel
Mr. Adorable!
When Nathaniel entered into care, he was estimated to be 6 months old. His file says "he could not adapt well, always cried and would not like to sit or be quiet." Sweet boy was most likely grieving the loss of his first family. The welfare center enrolled him the Grandmother Plan where Nathaniel was paired up with a very special Grandmother who cared and loved on him.
Love his smile and hair! He's gonna have great hair to style :)
This one-on-one doting by his grandmother helped Nathaniel reach his milestones. He can walk, can call "granny" if happy, likes being outside and explore nature. While outside he likes pointing to the sky with one hand!

What fun he is!!! Pictures all taken in Dec 2015
Nathaniel has good balance, can understand simple directions, can imitate well, likes being close to an adult and being accompanied by the caregiver. He can be timid, and his caregivers say he is becoming more "bright" and his cognition ability is good.

This sweet, loveable boy needs a family to help him reach all of his potential. He sounds like a gem! Nathaniel's name means Gift from God and Victorious. He certainly is a gift, and we look forward with anticipation to see how Nathaniel's life is used! We can't wait to praise and thank God for raising up Nathaniel's forever family.
"But thanks be to God, who gives us victory through our Lord Jesus Christ."
I Cor 15:57
Nathaniel is now back on the shared list. Please contact Erin Schmidt, ICC Adoptive Families Coordinator, at erin.schmidt@china.concern.org to receive is identifying information if you wish to have your agency pursue his file.
